PSA5 6.06G Post Release Update
This .ZIP file contains a full setup executable for version 6.06G of PSA5 for Windows, replacing version 6.06F. The following changes are included:
- Total mass of system given in Dynamics output modified for jobs containing non-90 degree bends
- ASME III Class 1: B1 marker for as-welded butt weld now available
- ASME III Class 2/3: Rules for evaluation of moments at intersections have been modified
- ASME III Class 2/3: Evaluation of section modulus at intersections have been modifed
- ASME III Class 2/3 stress ranging high table added to IRIS
- Combination selection added to IRIS ASME III Class 2/3 stress results window
Changes at version 6.06F included:
- Design condition modified to allow one additional (static) Mechanical loading
- Supplementary design conditions added, to allow for multiple evaluations of Equation 9 to Design limits
- Equation 9 evaluations to relaxed allowables for Service Levels B, C and D may now include a (static) Mechanical loading
- The user may now designate dynamic loadings as Reversing or Non-reversing
- Successful thermal stress ratchet checks are now indicated in the results
Changes at version 6.06E included:
- Fix: ASME III - Revised calculation of tee-piece moments for Uniform Support Motion above ZPA cut-off frequency
- Fix: IRIS - Internal overflow for large numbers of load set pairs (ASME III Class 1 fatigue analysis)
- Fix: Library Manager - minor typo
- Add: IRIS - Combination numbers listed for ASME III Class 1 Equation 9 results
- Add: IRIS - ASME III Class 1 Equation 9 (PL + PB) Stress Ratio added
Changes at version 6.06D included:
- Fix: ASME Class 1 level A/B results not diplaying correctly in IRIS, PS3 file output not affected
- Fix: Dynamics interpolation problems with response spectra including a point at zero frequency - results not affected
- Fix: IDES fittings library, rotary inertias sent to analysis factored by 144 for imperial units
- Fix: HEAT out of memory warning and possible file corruption
Changes at version 6.06C included:
- Fix: Problems with 3D graphics speed on some cards
- Fix: 3D graphics issues in printing, and Save as Bitmap
- Fix: Potential memory overrun in Dynamics
- Fix: Force time history with trigonometric loading function, wrong load at time=0
- Fix: Deleted labels in seismic raft could cause excess data on line in .INP file
- Fix: BS806 occasional loading could tag straight as MITRE. Results not affected
Changes at version 6.06B included:
- IDES could not generate a Spring Report with large numbers of non-catalogue springs requiring the table to be split across pages
- Corrected problems in IDES Troubleshooting feature with zero-length projections
Changes at version 6.06A included:
- For B31.3 2006 only, a unit conversion from input (projection thickness) to the matching PSA5 output units was not being carried out for the crotch thickness and external crotch radius for T1 and T5. This is only an issue if the output units and input units for thickness do not match. Other codes and years are unaffected
- Pressure stiffening of bends was not being applied in Dynamics for B31.3 2007. Neither Statics nor other codes/years were affected
- B31.1 postprocessor can now handle very large jobs (e.g. 700+ branches, 100 combinations)
- IRIS was not displaying sustained+occasional stress ratio for B31.1 combinations containing sustained and dynamic occasional but no static occasional
- Statics was not transforming moments for zero-length rigid or special parts at the start of a branch into the in-plane, out-plane and torsional coordinate system. Stresses were not affected
- Corrected a problem with substructures containing greater than 500 branches in IDES
- Dynamics natural frequency-only jobs now print correct mass participation factors for all displayed modes
- The IDES Select By Data feature for substructures was not working properly in 6.06
Changes at version 6.06 included:
- ASME Section III 2007 Edition
- ASME Section III 2004 Edition with Addenda up to and including 2006
- ASME B31.1 2007 Edition
- ASME III Supplementary Data input now integrated with IDES
- PSHEAT thermal transients program now has a Windows front end
- B31.3 Code Case 178 implemented (allow 0.75i as stress intensification factor for sustained and occasional loading)
- Problems with Intel on-board graphics chipsets corrected - those using legacy OpenGL drivers opengl32.dll and glu32.dll should now remove them from the PSA5 program folder
- Changes to support 64-bit versions of Windows
- Enhancements to FREECONV, the .INP file importer
- Copy Loadcase feature
- New IRIS reports, Support Check and Locations
